A PERTHSHIRE pensioner has admitted causing a breach of the peace by interfering with a farm animal.
William Nicoll left onlookers horrified when he approached a horse and began repeatedly inserting his hand up its bottom.
The 66-year-old, of Kincardine Road, Crieff, was described as being in the “borderline” range of having a learning disability.
He admitted that, on July 9 at The Holdings on Maxton Road, he conducted himself in a disorderly manner by entering a field containing three horses, approaching one and lifting its tail to carry out the act, to the fear and alarm of witnesses.
Solicitor Alison Mackay admitted the offence was “somewhat unusual”, but revealed her client had “certain difficulties”.
“He is someone who, because of that, already has ongoing social work involvement and has a community mental health nurse,” she said.
“This is a gentleman who already effectively receives support in the community.”
Sheriff Michael Fletcher called for reports, saying he wanted to know the reason behind Nicoll carrying out the offence. Sentence was deferred until March 13.
