Scots will be getting a soaking this week as torrential downpours continue towards the weekend.
With today being wet for many, worse weather is expected tomorrow with a Met Office yellow warning in place for parts of the country.
Thunderstorms are expected across eastern parts of Scotland on Wednesday afternoon, with a warning in place to expect heavy rain between 9pm and midnight.
Aberdeenshire, Fife and parts of Lothian and the Borders will be worst hit.
Thursday’s warning covers even more of the country, with parts of the central belt, the Highlands and Borders also affected.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop during Thursday afternoon across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England.
It's a tale of two halves across the UK today, with sun in the south but cloudier skies in the north.

“Whilst many areas will miss the heaviest rain, where heavy showers and thunderstorms do develop they will be slow-moving bringing the potential for 20-30 mm of rain in an hour and 40-50 mm in 2-3 hours. Showers and thunderstorms will gradually die out during Thursday evening.”
The weather is set to settle down ahead of the weekend, with events including The Scottish Open golf and Glasgow’s TRNSMT music festival taking place.
